Pictures will [...] Below you can find what I wrote earlier, before we got to the hospital and was subsequently sent home due to them having a sudden rush of women in active labor. Now I guess we just wait until they call us to let us know we can come in. *sigh* —— It is official, the Innovis Birthing Center [...] So the appointment: I was down two pounds, belly measured at 40.5cm (up 1.5cm from Thursday), cervix 1-2cm, effaced 70-80%, and I don’t remember where baby was in the pelvis, I don’t think she mentioned and I forgot to ask. After the most excruciating pain from her stripping membranes (thankfully it didn’t take nearly as [...] We had an appointment on Thursday and I’ve been meaning to post an update but haven’t been able to get to it. Here it is: Dr. Carver estimates the baby is between 8-8.5 pounds, we are dilated 1cm but also 70% effaced and baby is at -2. She “mixed things up down there” (stripped the membranes) [...] Today was a good mail day! I received all of my cloth diapers and extras. To start my stash/add to what Laura has borrowed me/I ordered: Two Bummis Super Snap Diaper Covers in Newborn size
From top to bottom: [...] Sarah hosted a shower for me on October 6th in Dilworth (and her mom Nancy helped). It was a lot of fun and a lot of women showed up that I hadn’t seen in a while, some not since high school. We played some games, ate some food, and of course there were the present! [...] Today officially marks 36 weeks, which means we are entering our ninth month of pregnancy. Woohoo! Our baby class ended last week, and I definitely feel more prepared for this whole *labor and delivery* thing, I think Chris does too. I found out that one couple from the class had their baby last Friday, she [...] I hope Chris posts about his experience with our first baby class, because he can put it so much more eloquently than I. We had our first of five “Lamaze/birthing” classes last night. The woman who is teaching it (Jess) is entertaining and easy to understand. We did learn a bit, Chris more so than [...] we are running out of time! As of today, there are 81days until baby is due, roughly 12 weeks, and we have nothing done, it seems anyway. This weekend, Sarah and I spent some time getting my office cleaned so that transitioning it to a nursery goes a little more smoothly.
