At [...]]]> In honor of all the Nurse-in-public stories in the news recently I thought I’d write up a blog post celebrating Graeme and my nursing-in-public photos. I am pretty sure I have more I can dig up, but this is it for now!

We had never been to the Dakota Carriage pumpkin patch yet and I’m still not sure if I like it better or just the [...]]]> Continuing on our annual tradition we hit up the pumpkin patch yesterday. It worked out great because we hadn’t bought any pumpkins for carving yet and they had a weekend special!

We had never been to the Dakota Carriage pumpkin patch yet and I’m still not sure if I like it better or just the same as the Buffalo River patch. What is important is that Connor had a ton of fun!

They had a large field full of games and Connor loved the miniature golf

Tons of people came to help us celebrate (thanks to EVERYONE who made the day so special!) and lots of fun was had by all.

We got there early to avoid the biggest crowd [...]]]> Chris and I love to hit up the MN Renaissance Festival when we can. We hadn’t been back since before we were married, but since they added a High Seas Weekend (PIRATES!) we thought it would be a great first weekend for the boys to go.

We got there early to avoid the biggest crowd and immediately set about finding stuff for Connor to enjoy. He received a lot of attention but most of it went right over his head or else it was someone calling him a girl. The funniest was when we walked by this pair (not my pic) and the one in the glasses spotted Connor and crowed in an old-hag British accent “Midgets?! When did we get Midgets? This place is going to hell!”

The highlights of Connor’s day was a ride on an elephant ($8 bucks for a fricken 50 foot circle and I wasn’t able to get a picture. Still pissed.) and getting to crack open a dragon egg.

We left early on Friday so that we could also hit up a few Local Yarn Stores (LYS) for the annual Yarn Shop Hop. We [...]]]> Amy suggested we hit a pumpkin patch a ways out of town for playgroup. I love a good car ride so I said yes and volunteered my van for carpooling.

We left early on Friday so that we could also hit up a few Local Yarn Stores (LYS) for the annual Yarn Shop Hop. We first stopped at Crates of Yarn in Fergus Falls, then hit Prairie Needles in Battle Lake, and finally At Loose Ends where I spent the most money, Oi! (I also managed to hit both Fargo LYS on Saturday which qualified me for a consolation prize, which I won, and I won a daily prize of $10 to At Loose Ends!).

We finally hit Maple Hills Orchard at nearly 5pm (yikes! Lots of napping occurred in the car this day!)

I really recommend this pumpkin patch. While it is kind of a jaunt out there, it is brand new (and you can tell by the sparse scenery) but the owners are really dedicated to making sure you are having a good time and satisfied with your visit (unlike the two local pumpkin patches that seem to nickle and dime you for just about everything!)
