We headed on over to Thumper Pond Resort on March 17-20. This date was chosen because we thought it’d be BEFORE the flood this year. Little did we know that Mother Nature had planned the flood a week early. Suspected crest date? March 21. We left everything to the higher powers that be and got [...] On January 2nd we made our way to Dickinson with Marlowe to celebrate Christmas with Chris’s grandma and aunt. The drive was relatively uneventful, though the weather was a bit unpredictable. I broke out my camera (with the pretty lens) on January 3rd as we opened presents.
Playing with the box of classic [...] Lindsey mentioned in passing that she was going to bring her boyfriend to Itasca State Park (where the beginning of the Mississippi River can be found, among other things) to view the fall foliage. That got me thinking that if we wanted to bring Connor to Itasca for the first time, we had better do [...] My grandpa’s family (the one I have tattooed on my arm) holds an annual reunion in August. This was the second time that Sadia and Selia were able to come with, and it is always a blast!

Selia [...] The next day we headed to Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s North Unit (since I had never been to both and the parking pass that we paid for the day before could be used for another few days at either unit). The North Unit is widely considered to be the “prettier” of the two. These next few [...] On July 25th (Connor’s nine month birthday) we packed up Marlowe and Janelle’s Saturn and braved the long drive from Moorhead to Dickinson. We stopped at a rest area (can’t remember where this is) with cool old gas pumps.
