On July 25th (Connor’s nine month birthday) we packed up Marlowe and Janelle’s Saturn and braved the long drive from Moorhead to Dickinson.
We stopped at a rest area (can’t remember where this is) with cool old gas pumps.

Connor wasn't exactly the picture of happiness!
We arrived pretty late so we ate dinner and went to bed.
The next morning Connor had cheerios for the first time!

Then Chris wanted to learn more about my camera…so we had a mini learning session before heading on the road.

To Medora and Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s South Unit

Porcelanite, locally called Scoria, tops this hill

I like trees like this.

This guy was dozing just a few feet off the road.

Connor and Momma

This guy is taking up the whole road!

so we passed him illegally on the right...

and he snorted his displeasure at our driving skills.

This entire herd was found just a mile after the one above.

In Medora we went to the ND Cowboy Hall of Fame. It was really well done and they had a cute little area for kids.

Connor is pretty excited to be a cowboy!

After the museum we headed up the hill for Pitchfork Fondue. After dinner we paused for some family photos.
