Nine Months, Cloth Diapers, Registry (and more pics)

Today officially marks 36 weeks, which means we are entering our ninth month of pregnancy. Woohoo! Our baby class ended last week, and I definitely feel more prepared for this whole *labor and delivery* thing, I think Chris does too. I found out that one couple from the class had their baby last Friday, she was only 33 weeks along! Her little boy was 5.5 pounds with a 14″ head circumference! Last night we packed our hospital bag and princess box. The few things we have left to pack are things that I plan on using still in the next few weeks before baby comes, plus we have to decide on baby’s going home outfit (we might wait til we have the baby and then have Chris buy something that isn’t gender-neutral). We washed all of our newborn and 0-3 months clothing too, I just have to fold or hang it all, but unfortunately we don’t have any place to really put it all.

The basement is going really well, Chris says he is behind, but I have confidence that we’ll get it done. I just wish we had some help to help get both the little things (like the tile back splash in the kitchen and all the window trim upstairs) and the big things (like drywall next weekend) done. I’m also getting too big to do a lot of things around the house so cleaning is getting out of the question. Yesterday I overdid it and felt crampy and sore so I had to stop cleaning. Basically what I’m saying, is my house is not getting cleaned for many weeks after today!

I think I’m finally getting more ideas for cloth diapers, and I know what I want to get (it isn’t as confusing as it used to be, thanks to my new friend, Laura). Here is what I’m thinking about starting with:

From greenmountain:
Cloth-eez Prefold - Newborn orange edge - One dozen
Bummis Super Snap - Newborn (small?) - Two

From nicki’s diapers:
Imse Vimse Bumpy Soft Diaper Cover - New Style - Newborn - One
Thirsties Diaper Cover - XSmall (6-12lbs) - One
Snappi Diaper Fastener - Three
Wahmies Diaper Pail Liner - Two
Bummies Tote Bag - Medium - One

Plus my MIL bought this for us:  http://hyenacart.com/kaylasclothkits/index.php?c=49&p=37382

that is a sew-your-own diaper covers kit, and it comes with enough material to make four diaper covers.

Laura is also borrowing us some covers and prefolds (I think both?) and that should help us to round out our initial kit and help us decide what to go with later. I believe the stuff she is borrowing me should fill in the gaps of covers and prefolds that it seems I have in my list (I do think she is borrowing me some BSWW, that is why I picked two Bummis Super Snaps). I’m so hesitant to buy a bunch of newborn stuff, because everyone says babies grow out of it so fast, and with the size of babies born in my family, I’d hate to spend so much darn money on a bunch of newborn stuff and have it only last a few weeks or so.

That is one reason why I’m sticking to a minimum amount for newborn stuff, I figure, if baby comes and is small enough to warrant me buying more, I’ll buy more newborn stuff, but if baby is big enough, then we can just buy smalls right away. At that point too, I hope to have some *favorites* so I can buy a big kit, if possible.

I finished the baby registry, at least with the stuff I’m able to add online…not because I expect anything, but if anyone wanted to take a peek, we registered at Target. I’m just glad to have it done with, my shower is coming up on Saturday! I’m really excited for it, some people whom I haven’t seen in forever are going to be there. I even got to pick out the decorations colors. Can I mention how awesome Sarah is?

Now, what everyone is really here for, I had Chris take more belly pics yesterday morning.
